Challenge​​

Traditional Taiwanese Opera Embodies rich folk art values.

Yet, amidst the endless influx of popular entertainment, it is gradually being overlooked.

We have discovered that small truck owners who frequently travel to rural towns and villages are deeply connected to local folk culture.

Therefore, when the automotive leader Toyota reintroduced small trucks after many years, we also wanted to bring back the precious indigenous theatrical genre of Taiwan to places like local markets, ports, and temple fairs.


Solution​​

We joined forces with three major traditional opera creation groups: Nian Ge, Puppet Theater, and Ge-Zai Xi. Furthermore, we incorporated contemporary entertainment forms such as collage art, multimedia, and hip-hop. TOWN ACE carries the gradually disappearing traditional opera into the lives of the public. This endeavor aims to keep the cultural flame of Taiwan's indigenous theatrical genre alive, allowing it to thrive and continue to resonate with generations to come.
